E-Commerce Drives Rural Job Creation and Industry Upgrades in Shandong

Xinhua News Agency reported that rural e-commerce formats across Shandong are revitalizing local resources and connecting production and sales chains through livestreaming and specialized industry e-commerce, creating numerous local job opportunities. In Lanshan District of Rizhao, Shandong, agricultural workers cultivate tea e-commerce by setting up livestreaming studios inside production workshops, transparently presenting tea garden maintenance and processing to overcome conventional retail limitations and boost farmer earnings. Livestreaming has expanded distribution channels for farm products in Lanshan District, where online retail sales grew by 32% year-on-year from January to July, while the local government continues improving facilities, organizing public training, and advancing logistics initiatives. In addition to agricultural products, Cao County in Heze built a rural industrial cluster centered around Hanfu e-commerce, which has gathered Hanfu enterprises and online shops while supporting local employment. Daji Town in Cao County developed a complete Hanfu industrial chain covering design, manufacturing, logistics, and sales, continually expanding its industrial scale and drawing returning talent and resources.
